Calling for Expressions of Interest for College roles

RACDS is now seeking expressions of interest from members wishing to support the activities of the College. The following opportunities are now available:

Assistant Registrars (2 positions available)

The appointment of Assistant Registrars is designed to support the College Registrars with their roles and responsibilities. They also provide an opportunity for succession planning and potential involvement of younger Fellows / Members in the functioning of the College.

The Board is now seeking expressions of interest for the two vacant positions:

  • A/Registrar MRACDS (General Dental Program)
  • A/Registrar (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) *Note position does not require an OMS qualification

Members of Boards of Studies (4 positions available)

Reporting to the Education Policy Board, the responsibilities of each Board of Studies may include the development of curriculum for College education programmes and examinations, as well as recommendations regarding the regulations and guidelines for their specific area of dentistry expertise.

The Board is now seeking expressions of interest for below vacant positions:

  • Board of Studies – FRACDS (General Dental Program)
  • Board of Studies – Oral Medicine (2 positions available)
  • Board of Studies – Special Needs Dentistry

Advisory Council (2 positions available)

The RACDS Advisory Council is being created to provide information and advice to the Board on a variety of issues and to provide a forum for the College membership to engage with the College and Board.

Part of the RACDS’ Vision is: “To enhance oral health in the community” and a key goal of the College is to work to strengthen the engagement and the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia and Māori of New Zealand within the College programs.  The Advisory Council has a dedicated position for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander dentist and a Māori dentist.

The Advisory Council meetings will be conducted primarily by video-conference and electronic communication initially, but may in the future meet face-to-face, no more than twice per year.
