ENDODONTICS  SELF ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

Welcome to the College's Self Assessment Program in Endodontics!

The aim of this interactive program is to help you update and improve your endodontic knowledge whilst also providing some interesting cases for you to consider.  Each case provides a typical diagnostic and treatment planning challenge that could be seen in general dental practice every day.

The Program contains a series of clinical photographs or radiographs regarding twelve patients, together with other relevant information. Participants are requested to view the information presented and then answer the questions which cover a wide range of clinical endodontics, with particular emphasis on the diagnosis of pulp and periapical diseases.  Participants are also asked to consider the various options available for the management of each case, and the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

The Program has been designed to be interactive and it is essential that you view the information in the order provided.  Once you have answered a question, you can then view the answer provided by the author.  Each answer has been supplemented by further radiographs, photographs, references and/or other information to support the answer and concepts being presented.  The answers also demonstrate what was actually done for each case.

This Program was prepared by Prof Paul Abbott, Oral Health Centre of W.A., University of Western Australia, on behalf of the Continuing Professional Development Committee of the College.
