Final Examination - Periodontics
Candidates should refer to the Appendix to the Regulations for an outline of expected levels of knowledge.
The Examination is usually held in November, in conjunction with the approved University postgraduate programs.
Format of the Examination
Assessment of candidates shall be by evaluation of case presentations together with written, oral and clinical examinations. As part of the Examination, candidates must present four case reports covering their personal treatment of a wide range of periodontal patients.
The Examination in clinical periodontics will comprise:
- Written Paper
A written paper of three hours duration.
- Viva Voce Examination - based on case reports
30-40 minutes.
- Viva Voce on written examination and general discussion
30 minutes.
- Examination of a patient and Viva Voce Examination
60 minutes to examine patient, 30 minute viva voce.
